The Islamic Medical Association of North America (IMANA) cordially invites the New Jersey community to attend "An Evening with IMANA." Enjoy a halal dinner and hear from motivational speakers like groundbreaking former NCAA Women's Division 1 basketball player Bilqis Abdul-Qaadir and Sheikh AbdulHakim Mohamed. Please join us with your family and friends and learn about our ongoing projects within IMANA, including our medical relief efforts in 31 countries to date. Registration is required to attend.
1. Bilqis Abdul-Qaadir: Former Division 1 Basketball player Bilqis Abdul-Qaadir holds the record for highest scorer (male or
female) in Massachussetts high school basketball and also led the charge in
overturning the International Basketball Association’s hijab ban after she
learned she would not be allowed to play wearing one.
2. Sheikh AbdulHakim Mohamed: Dr. Mohamed has served as an Imam and Khateeb for more than 27 years. He is a former president of the North American Imams Federation and a member of Assembly of Muslim Jurists in America (AMJA) and Islamic Council of Yemen. Moreover, he is the former Executive Director of the Texas Islamic Council (T.I.C.) Program at The Freedom & Justice Foundation.
